The 1/2/3 grades worked on a quarter long project first quarter that focused on copying life.
The first quarter the students learned about The Design Process and what makes a strong design. We used this process to make a recycled materials project focusing on biomimicry. For centuries we have copied nature when it comes to designing because nature knows best. For example the nose and body of an airplane was designed based off the body and beak of a bird. The students created useful tools for their home based off the characteristics of the animal of their choosing.
